^^ Yep I'd second that, best all around wave sailor on the planet at the moment I reckon. Ex freestyle world champ, has a pretty on point aerial game and sick wave riding, super consistent too.

- In the pure aerial game it's hard to argue against Phillip Koster, dude isn't a 5 time champ for no reason, just a pure master, particularly on port tack jumping. I think the world tour locations for a while now have favoured that style which is one of the reasons he's been so dominant.

- Pure wave riding, still a huge Polakow fan, dude just had a mad style, huuuge laydowns and massive cut backs. Also in that vein Jaeger Stone also has a super rad style and the fact he does so well in places like Pozo given how on shore it is and heavily favours jumping is a testament to just how good he is at shredding bombs.

For jumping and tricks on port tack - Koster no doubt.

Braw however is the most well rounded sailor on the planet - one of (if not the best) sailors at Ho'okipa; rips Jaws like nobody else, finishes top 3 in Pozo consistently. His performance in Sylt 2019 was incredible; went on an absolute mission in the double elimination and almost won in the ugliest conditions possible. He puts in the work and has the most consistent quality to his sailing.

for sheer talent/balls/sendiness - Antoine Martin? Dude just sends it Mark angulo style and has landed some incredible stuff over the years.

Marc Pare is definitely getting up there with Braw; his jumping and tricks are at least as good and he's probably the second most consistent waverider in onshore, cross shore and cross off both tacks. He's missing the big wave skill that Traversa and Braw have but give him time...

As for Jaeger... faaark he's the most fun guy to watch and the power he puts into his turns is next level. Not a good enough jumper or tricky-person myself to properly analyse how good he is at that stuff but he's definitely up there. A winter or two in Maui and a few jaws swells later I think he'd be gunning for braw's title as the Most Complete Sailor

to everyone who'll put Ricardo - the guy absolutely rips when it's firing but the moment the conditions start to get marginal he's not up there with the best anymore. Anytime he has to sail average conditions in a contest he whines on Facebook that the judges are out to get him...

Give him perfect conditions and a proper world tour and he'd be hard to beat though.

That's easy. Marino Gil is already getting close to the top 10 in the men's, just needs to spend some more time in Maui and other spots with proper waves and then he's going to be incredible. Liam Dunkerbeck as well, he has doubles in the bag now and is working his way through the wave tricks game. A couple winters in Maui or West Oz and he'll to one to watch too

Liam will grow up big like father,I dont know will he focus on wave only or at slalom+wave. I think he get hard time to win wave if he focus on both discipline.
Also when you are big and tall 1.95m you are not so agile like smaller sailors..

You could also say the same for Robby Naish I guess? Polakow just sticks in my mind as having a style that at the time upped the game which is why I put him at the top of that era; granted Naish had already retired by then. I n my opinion had no peer in pure wave riding at that time. I reckon Kauli Seadi should also probably be in there, he could arguable be attributed with starting the trend of the super short quad style wave boards that many of us ride today. Some of the stuff he was experimenting with in the early 2000's was wild

Edit: As in my first post though in my mind the current all around boss and embodiment of most of them is Brawz, seems most agree

Interesting to read this .

I'm a little surprised not to see Victor Fernadez mentioned at all. Did I overlook something? Considering his record of PWA Wave wins, he cannot go unmentioned here. Most impressive to see what he can do in almost any conditions. Light wind, strong wind, left, right, mushy, whatever!

Thaoms Traversa only gets into play on a side not as well. Come on, watch any of his videos, especially the ones where he scores places that break once in a lifetime in the mid of European winter. There's not much time to study how the place works. He's got style, skill and balls.
Plus, winning the Red Bull Storm Chase against the likes of Koester is absolutely outstanding for a miniscule scraggly smoking Frenchman.

Just my two cent!

Seems to be bad luck more than anything else. Koster is the best guy in Pozo. Braw routinely gets 2nd or 3rd. Tenerife, Braw is a lot better than Philip but usually loses out to the lighter guys as they can get more out of each wave in light winds. Sylt, Braw came back from something like 16th place last year to get 2nd but narrowly got beaten but Traversa. Again in Maui he had super bad luck, because we already know he's one of the best guys at Hookipa.

Then you have his freesailing performance at Jaws, which is leagues above anyone else.

He can do all the big jumps like push forwards, stalled doubles etc just as well on Starboards tack as he can on port.

the reason braw is being talked about so much here isnt because he's the best at any one part of wavesailing (except riding jaws), but instead because he's almost the best at everything. Nobody is as well rounded as he is. He is a contender at every spot of the world tour.

Levi Siver - one of the most stylish starboard tack waveriders

kauli seadi - 4x(?) world champ, popularised multi fins for modern wavesailing and helped usher in the new school era of freestyle moves in waves along with Brawzinho and Ricardo canpello

Francisco Goya - 2x world champ, super smooth stylish guy and founder of Quatro / Goya

I dont understand in wave sailing at all,but I just notice that Polakow has the most agressive/brutal wave riding style...
