Hi ! The other day I managed to learn the beachstart. I still have to help me with one foot to kick the board while steering it by aplying mast foot pressure but although I would appreciate any advice on steering the board with the mast, my main doubt is another one. It's regarding something that Gollito Estredo makes while beachstarting and that I've never seen on another video, and I've seen many tutorials. My amateur eyes and ears see and hear in the beach and on youtube, that you first steer the board a little bit downwind so that it isn't pointing too much upwind, because if you step on the board while it's pointing upwind you will stall and fall down. So, first you steer the board and then when it is pointing a little bit downwind, you raise up your hands like throwing the boom forward while puting your back foot on the board like jumping. I know a lot of peaople first put the backfoot on the board, bring it a little bit back and then pull up the sail to get up, but that's what for the moment is working for me. So, here is the main point: I see Gollito Estredo jumping to the board whitout having steered it, in fact you can see the board pointing upwind, and while he is stepping on to the board, puting his backfoot on the back of the board, you see the point bearing away... for me that's crazy because he steers the board while jumping onto it. You can see his beachstart on the minute 2:26 aprox, at this video. Any comments and tips or guesses will be very much appreciated

Lots of wind and staying sheeted in steers the board.
In less wind, you have less downwind steering.
In 3-5 mph wind, you might need to step front foot first or take a running start.
Solid wind cures most problems.

I can only see one bit of this video that has a beach start at around 2:28 in which he starts slightly up wind then bears away instantly.

remember when learning that the pros are exceptionally good sailors, especially the freestyle sailors, they are light and nimble too and use the lightest and latest gear.

Stick at it, you'll get there.

Even tho he starts upwind he's walking forward and that drives the nose away from the wind.

Added to that when he puts his foot on the board he throws the rig forward and swing his body weight forward while his fin is stuck in the sand.

He probably wasn't thinking about any of that. Just jumped on and took off.
