You should get one of these Mac.

Hydro that board has gotta have more volume then the same length Torq. Go and do the old under arm test. Volume is a stupid way to judge surfboards.

Blah blah as if Hyro would listen

Tool

Cool tool, but still a tool.

Game over guys, thanks for all your help in trying to figure a solution for me but I'm done and dusted.

Just got a $90k tax bill ??? WTF ATO?? WTF Bookkeeper?? WTF Accountant??

Stupid me for trusting a bookkeeper to do things the right way, she stuffed us up right royally and no come back at all because we signed a form indemnifying her. This on top of bad business deals, family stealing property from us, major family illness, me having to deal with melanoma, my daughters marriage breakdown, and my 2nd youngest son suffering a heart attack from Carona at 18 (yes we've had it affect us directly).

And all in the last 18 months.

Gotta go focus on fixing the property to sell and pay our dues before the bank forecloses.

Been fun but I'm done in more ways than one. Topping things off is the misses is now spitting chips at me for all the wrong reasons, accusing me of being off doing "other" things rather than surfing. Even though I can prove where I was and when through bank teller transactions, fuel purchases, surf shop purchases etc.

Not exactly where I expected or planned to be at my age.

Sorry, not the place to rant on about it, I've done enough of that in the past.

Whatever you boys are riding have fun and when you catch a ripper send some vibes my way. I'll be the guy standing at the lookout wishing I was out there as well.

I'll be checking out for a while, everything's gone to **e and a terrible colour and consistency at that.

Cheers all, stay safe.

All real, gonna stop jibbering on about it.

I'm done trying to fight my way forward.

I'm supposed to be talking to a shrink because this crap has put me in a place I never ever expected to be. But Carina stitched that up for the next 8 weeks.

Just gonna sit tight ATM. Can't even do what I'm trained for because the crap messes your higher processing functions up. Any engineering I try to do I need to quadruple check and even then I'm screwing calcs up.

Nuff said.

Let's get this back to talking about midlengths and the grove of riding them.

Sorry for hijacking or sidetracking things.

And cheers for all the consideration.

Hydro as mentioned we would all feel for you, good that you have expressed yourself here. How about you use this forum as an outlet and enjoy it for what it has to offer. May help you during these tying times.

Out today at Nth Av, had a great session with a bloke on a Lovelace V Bowls, holy god what a beautiful surfboard. Bloke could surf too. The foiling of the nose of that board is just insane.

Cuttlefish, I'll need to get some fin advice from you if I get that Vessels.

Look closely at the depression at the rear of the fin plug on the left side of the board. Could be ready to pop that plug if you use twin fins in it.
I'd still take the Clearwater over the vessel. Depends upon whether you want a big volume shortboard and that style of surfing or the Clearwater's glide advantage with a carvey style of surfing. Some Webber twins would work great in it I reckon. I'll drop in tomorrow morning for a better look at it.

Good spy CF. Mentioned it too him and got $30 off the price, can't pass it up at $120.

Can anyone help out on the shipping recommendations?

I reckon the freight would be more than the board was worth.
I used tnt to send a board over there years ago but it was a few hundred for a longboard.

Try e.go couriers they seem to be the cheapest over this way but your seller will have to pack it good and the cheapest option is usually if he can drop it off at a depot.

And if it arrives undamaged is a lottery.

You can get a quote online.

Yeah just got a couple of online quotes.

Looking at more for freight than the board is worth.

Dang, why nothing good over here at that price point.

Cheers boys for all your efforts, greatly appreciated.

Think I'll need to hide my time and wait for opportunity to come my way over here.

Mr hydro i explained to my long time shaper about your predicament

Mr Steve Del Rosso from clearwater surfboard fame was like one of my boards no problem... i then told him It probably won't be. Steve thought about it for half a sec and said that's cool as long as the bloke gets in the water and it helps to sort his head out

So hydro, steve will ship a board for free for you to W.A,....would not be hard for you to pick it up from the Clearwater secret harbour shop

I never put disclaimers on **** if I am doing something to help....BUT i will say there is one, which should be pretty obvious,i will not help to ship an asian made board,it can be any brand,it just has to be made in Australia.....also i would be too embarrassed to ask steve to do that

So there you go,another benefit for having a long time shaper

Good luck with your search hydro

Hey Chrispy your mate Steve still up for a favour?

He's got a board over east that I'm keen on and ticks all my boxes, just wondering of you could hit him up to see if he's happy to still help?

www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/currumbin/surfing/will-webber-dugong-surfboard/1251696293

If not no worries, I'll see what else I can come up with.

Cheers

Hydro

Search Sunova on Gumtree. There's a 7'4" wavehog in Perth with a boardbag for $600. If that was anywhere near me I would have bought it already. Anyone from WA coming to QLD? Border is about to open again.

Champion. Hydroman should buy it. Great strong construction and after owning my 8ball 8'er I would be confident the wave hog will do what it says on the tin.

Cheers boys, appreciate the heads up. Saw that one but volume looked too big.

Really like Wills and Greg's designs hence the interest in the Dugong.

Been giving the Torq a good work out, paddles in well, solid build and refined shape for a pop out.

Holds well but lacking some drive off the bottom with only the big twins.

Put a small middle finger in it and that has sparked it a bit but still not quite right.

Might just get another TMF and run them as rear mini quads and see how that pans out?

Bought a set of Futures Controller Quads with my last bit of coin from a guy on GT and he posted them out to me.

Didn't show up hey, did the tracking and everything and the postie swears that they put the package in the letter box.

Load of crock as I was waiting there most of the day and nothing was put in the box.

Can't prove a thing though as it was not sign for delivery, great way to loose a hundred bucks.

Really not having a lot of luck lately, maybe I should try my hand at lotto?

I reserve the right to be wrong but pretty sure my mate (the King of Gumtree) of had one briefly. First time we met was when I sold him my Tak Scorpion. He had the scorpion for much longer. It's a Surftech so depends upon if you like the ride characteristics of them or not.

Found a photo of my old 7'6"
Based on a mates Dave Mel shape board that he brought in Maui and took on Mexico surf trip that was his one surfboard.
Got local kiwi longboarder to shape then painted and glassed with S glass myself.
Mid 90's board so glassed on fins.
When owned a place on the Taranaki coast it saw plenty of use, good times ???????
Sold it to good mate and still sees some use by his son.

Think this is the model that was tweaked to become the Howard Mini.
