Hey guys
anyone know if you can adapt a deeper box us style black project Maliko to the shallower SUP/SURF /longboard base .?
pin height different, apparently narrower and base height different.

US STANDARD base
Fits STARBOARD, JP-AUSTRALIA, FANATIC, BIC SPORT, MISTRAL etc. This is the same as found on many windsurfing boards and is wider and deeper with the pin set further from the deck of the board. The base is 9.2mm thick. %2C150&ssl=1 US SURF base / Longboard base
This is the same as fitted as standard in many surf longboards. It is a narrower and shallower base as used by NAISH, SIC, 404 and many more. Narrower and shallower than the US base with the pin set closer to the deck of the board. The base is 9.0mm thick. %2C150&ssl=1

You can do it with a detail sander, some superglue, and a lot of patience. I had to do it, when the BP guys told me - wrongly - that the fin with the tab would fit a SIC Bullet.

It's a PITA to do, and requires a lot of f*rting about. But it can be done.

Not sure how you value your time but I would just buy the correct fin and sell the other one.

The bump is easy, the pin and the difference in thickness is a a royal PITA.

Spent a lot of time trying to get earlier MFC in an Exocet.

Bad idea. Just get the right one. Several manufacturers now give you a choice.
