I want to move my boat out of marina (to expensive) and was thinking about applying for private permament mooring. I checked the prices the yearly price to martime is fine, and building is around 3-4k (there need to be eco-friendly ones in morteon bay).
On the form to QLD i need to indicate where I want the mooring to be assigned - where is best location for having calm water and not too far from the shore? I want to spend on the boat 4 days every two-three weeks. Was thinking somewhere near victoria point, that would be also easy to go to ocean from there - but not sure if they have any spots there - i couldn't find any map :) Ahh my draft is 1.8m

Hi Marekkn,

Here is a link for buoy mooring areas in the region. Good luck with the search.

Popular places have very long waiting list, on the forms theres options for 2nd and 3rd preferences, i ended up getting my 2nd preference untill my first preference came available, about 18 months wait, i was also lucky and took over the existing tackle, saved me heaps of $$$.

1st preference was Mooloolaba river. 2nd was cabbage tree creek at shorncliff, didn't like it there as could only get in and out at highish tide
