These weather patterns tend to run in twenty year rotations I wasn't kiting twenty years ago so I don't know how the season will end but foiling is starting to look pretty appealing

Worst season I can recall. There is a particularly warm ocean current off Perth this year. About a 2 degree celcius rise. Some of this may be related to long term patterns, and there may also be the contribution of climate change. One thing is certain, when massive glaciers and ice caps are rapidly melting away (in the space of a few years), the time for debating about climate change is over. It is scientific fact, and it may already be too late to turn things around.

That's right. We currently have a positive IOD (indian ocean dipole) which brings warm waters down from the tropics:

This is also largely the reason we had such a shortage of rain this year (2019):

we were probably due for a different season, the last two have been epic - cooler throughout summer and really consistent winds. This has been a really hot start to the season and therefore not as consistent. Still been some pretty good days though!

The only ones who complain about the wind only being 15knts are the ones who don't have the gear or skill to have a satisfactorily powered session in those conditions

No need to be offended.... just get the gear and gain the skills and you too wont need to complain.

Your reason for a crap season

Very warm water temps after a record breaking heatwave' not great for wind production
