Foil Racing at HIllarys Yacht Club

Hi Foilers,

In an effort to bring racing to the northern beaches of Perth and further spread the stoke of foil racing to sailors and kiters alike, we have been working with HYC to create an event which we hope will turn into a series on the alternate weekends to the JBSC/PKR series. In order to make this successful, we need some participants of course

So show some support and come along and help put on a show to the HYC members, public and race officials. Kite foil racing is known to many of the younger members who are chomping at the bit to get into kiteboarding and kite foiling. Lets show them how fast and spectacular foil racing really is.

HYC is looking to potentially expand kite foiling services to weekly coaching sessions both on and off the water as well as fortnightly racing. It also see's kiteboarding as a pathway for it's junior members to follow all the way to olympics. The shortage of adrenaline packed and comparitively inexpensive form of tactical sailing for members is why many members leave the clubs after dinghy racing only to return when older into yacht racing.

We are already seeing very high calibre, aurstralian representative sailors entering kiteboarding with a view of racing and representing Australia in 2024. Australia is a little behind other sailing nations like France, USA and UK, but our future is nothing but bright if we get behind clubs like JBSC, FSC and HYC.

Sunday 22nd of December is the first race in a limited summer series at HIllarys Yacht Club. Racing will be between Hillarys Yacht Club and Pinnaroo point in a windward leeward course. Course will be three laps for Formula Kite and 2 laps for Formula 2. Briefing at Hillarys Yacht Club at 1pm with a view to start at 2:30pm. Racers can rig at Pinnaroo Point or Just north of HYC along Whitfords Beach.

Drinks will be available at the wet bar after racing.
