hey guys i had the luck last year to kite at an amazing spot in Mannar Sri Lanka called adams bridge. its plenty of island linking between indian and Sri Lanka causing km.s of butter flat waist depth water with reliable trade winds blowing nearly every day all day from june until october.
when i was there last year there was one very basic kite camp there but they was not allowed access to adams bridge so we had to walk 20minutes to the beach then upwind 30 minutes to get to the island.
im happy to see that kitesurfing lanka Sri Lankas most epic kite camp company from Kalpitiya ( anyone who has visited will understand how amazing this camp is ) will be opening a new 10 bungalow resort directy on the spot :) i will definitely be visiting some point thru the winter and fought i would put it our there for you guys. and i forgot to mention they also have waves on the other side of the sand bars :)
Great to hear. I stayed at kite lanka at Kalpitiya last year. But that main lagoon was really crowded and although the wind cranked everyday it was cross off and really gusty. Vella Is was incredible of course and went there several times. Was not going to go back however if there is another alternative away from the thick crowds of beginners I am definitely in.
hey 2old2quit i was actually teaching there all last for ksl maybe we met at the camp? for me this was a problem to with the gusts at kalpitiya lagoon. unfortunately from june-oct the wind comes over the land creating the gusty wind. kalpitiya works well dec- march then the wind comes from the north and is gust free :). but with mannar in every direction the wind is clear in every direction and the camp is right on the spot with only 10 bungalows we wont have a problem with crowds. there is small video edit showing the spot before the camp was built :)

Looks fantastic. thankyou
I live in Kalpitiya and From May to October Kalpitiya lagoon is a very good spot for kitesurfing but sometimes is little bit gusty. However, there are many choices for kitesurfing in this area as Puttalam lagoon and Vella Island where there is a very good and constant wind. Mannar is also very good for kitesurfing, perfect for those more adventurous! Regards, Rubenhttp://www.kitesurfsrilanka.com/kitesurfing
any pole dancers in mannar or is that just down south a bit
the pole dancers are only at our main camp in kalpitiya at the moment. im sure there can be special requests for you :)
hey! For the Kalpitiya Lagoon gustiness or crowd we have more than one solution! take a trip on "The Scallywag" and in no time you can visit a Load of other spots OR there is also a clean wind spot on the Kalpitiya Lagoon Channel (thank you Venturi effect!), not many ppl know about this, in front of The Rascals Kite Resort (that's why we built it here!), where u just step out of your cabana and rig your kite. there is no crowd only our guests who have booked with us can use this spot. it's also super flat.
From our premises you are also on the way to dream spot, magic island, vella and more.
The Scallywag has a 115HP engine, the only one in the area. For more info www.rascalskiteresort.com
