Hi Guys,

I am planning a trip at the end of April to Noosa and would like to know if there's any chance of wind? if so, which spots would you recommend?

Many thanks in advance

There is a chance of wind, pot luck at this stage. We had hardly anything over Xmas but last few weeks have been ok. There is a google maps link in the QLD section that has all the SE QLD kite sites on it. Basically you will find:
NE Wind:
Noosa river mouth (outgoing tide)
Cotton Tree (outgoing tide)
Golden Beach (Outgoing Tide)
SE Wind:
Lake Weyba (non tidal)
Happy Valley (outgoing tide)
Golden Beach (incoming tide)

Oh and watch out for local laws, Noosa Council recently put kite surfing in the same category as power boats. Result is we can no longer launch or land on the beaches in the Noosa are therefore no more down winders starting or finishing north of Peregian. There is currently a petition going to submit to council in order to re classify kite surfing in the same category as wind surfing, surf ski's, surfing etc. Would be helpful if everyone can sign it. Link is on one of these threads somewhere....

Thanks Gateman, appreciate the feedback and useful info.
