Hey,

Anyone know whether either of these spots gets deep enough to foil? I'm used to walking out hundreds of metres at weyba and then it's fine with my 600 mast.

Just thinking about camping with the new kite friendly gf

Weybas pretty tricky spot. Drift launching gusty as hell of you can foil there you can foil anywhere.

Camp at Cotton tree, foil on or just before high tide.
Still got the Axis with the 900 mast ?

Yeah mate I have a 600mm mast too. Plus a slingshot foil with the h3 wing. Plus a new "600" axis wing for your old foil to make it carvier. I can see a few foils coming and going soon to feed the addiction

Haha, it's so addictive - I have the new Axis 900 wing arriving in the post any day now.

KBG, (JIC you have not gone there yet)...
Hi, posted in foiling section.. the link for the Holfuy setup at at Sunrise you told me about links to the Cootharaba one.
Better to Weyba at BP as launch at right angles to the wind = no hassling trying to get deep enough to launch.
Not camped at Elanda for a few years now. In between it has been sold and new operators way more commercial - lovely spot though. It is shallow there for along way and gravelly on bottom. Beach is launch-able from BP campsite but was washed out with limited space and tree roots when I last used - no good when busy and shallow for long way out for foil.
Have seen others TT from front of yacht club, but there are underwater hazhards - rock ledge and some post cement etc so not knowing how foil friendly, first time I went followed foiling WSurfer example - further around towards boat ramp - trade off is drift launch...
Pik gives good idea of wind directions for 3 launch points at BP.
Example - Another ground hog day - Get going the wind dropped until I had wound the lines in but at least it was a positive weight loss experience
Cheers
AP

Thanks AP for both your replies I have just managed to finesse the ex wife into swapping parenting weeks around so I'm in sync with the new GF... Who loves camping at Boreen and wants to kayak out and film me foiling (high speed crashes here we come). So the stars have aligned and a date is set for a couple of weeks. Will keep you posted...
