My mate has a ocean rodeo 4 line bar that flags out to the 2 front lines.
It doesnt work, the kite just bounces in the water, dead down wind and keeps a fair bit of power.
Does anyone know a way to modify it to a single line flag out?
We have been able to grab a single front line and that works.
I ask because he is probably going to sell it and get out of kiting
Is he using it with a kite that actually has the necessary roll over bridles?
If it's the "old" infinite surf bar, pretty sure I've seen them modded for single front.... if it's the old QR, you have to add a loop for the flag line. Ask OR, they're good at replying to questions like that.

Hi Fos, I wouldn't advise modifying safety systems unless you know exactly what you're doing and have the right spare parts, because you will need a few spare parts to do this properly.
Especially if this is not your kite and after modification the safety system fails for whatever reason, that could be dangerous.
Changing the bar seems like a better option here, or just sell the kite, there are still a few brands making 2017 bars with dual front line safety systems....
Christian
He got a great deal and bought some 2nd hand kites and ive got this one off him.
It will be my 10m.
When i get a chance im going to experiment with the bar that came with it and the single line flagging bar i have.
At the moment here in tassie its very gusty upto 45knots frontal, so ill wait for a seabreeze day or similar to test.
Im pushing 130kg, so this will probably be my small kite for a few years.
Is it an Ocean Rodeo kite? Previous models have a roll over bridle.
Send me an email and I can help you get it sorted out.
Hey, yes its OR, and yes it does.
I used it last night in some shallows, i think some I oyster shells have put some small holes in the leading edge.
Ill work on it and then test the flag out
