Hi All

I'll be heading up to PNG in a few weeks for work and will be stuck there for a few months thanks to how COVID has changed travel. I've never kited in POM before and haven't ever seen a kite in my time up there yet. This time I'm going to take my gear up and find some spots to kite.

Is there anyone here up there now? or know anyone in the community up there?

Hula is the place, but your timing is not great unless you're stuck there until April

Technically dec through to april is the off season (monsoon season). But you can still have great kite session in the NW winds. they are difficult to predict and dont blow all day like the trades. So you do need to be on the beach ready to go to make the most of it. locations that work well in NWerlysunset resort out at laelae easy drive if you have an afternoon free (past the LNG plant)
and as mentioned above Hula. best for a weekend
its also possible to kite the main harbour

PM me and i can add you to the local WhatsApp group where all the discussion is.

Thanks Guys, appreciate the info.

I'll shoot you a PM now thanks Jay.

Probably be there until middle of next year, so might just be in time for the trade winds to come back.
