Whats this location like to kite?
How are conditions in mid to late Feb ?
Wave quality ? Water temp?
Is it sand or reef ? combo?

Any recommendations appreciated ?

Cheers

Monkey Fish... Rail Inn is pulling your leg its a fantastic place to kite.

Yes its a combination of Sand and Reef, Similar conditions in water temp as Margret River area Maybe a little warmer.

South to South west really good, No Northerly Kiting there.

Late Feb Its Victoria not like WA we could have wind cycle and be on for a week and then nothing.

Just remember wind in Vic is way stronger than up north... Please respect the locals they are awesome.

This time of year you're probably guaranteed slop waves of no more than 2ft, winds not quite strong enough to kite in, and holiday crowds to boot. The bay is probably a better bet. Might improve a bit in Feb though, but you're more likely to get morning offshore winds for surfing.

Ahhh I used to hate you guys back in the late 90s when my mate and I went to Cosy Corner for a Longboard session. You'd ride rings around us! Now I've come across the fence but it's a great spot for a Longboard too. I wonder who were the pioneers back then of kiting at Torquay? You guys were way ahead of time!

some of the earlier 7 foot kiteboards with 3 footstraps were made by stonker, but as to who started it all back then is opening a real can of worms
