Good effort by old mate on the kite but if they haven't stopped people by now, they probably won't. There's been a few drownings and 100's of people rescued over the 20 years i've been fishing there.
99% are tourists or people unfamiliar with the ocean who walk over at low tide when its calm and find out they can't swim on the walk back once the tide and wind has come in.

i know someone high up on the council and im only half joking- its been discussed often and is an ongoing concern for them. fences have been looked at but the preferred option is a sign and ranger blitzes with fines for using the bar. they want to stop everyone using the bar in case one of those people cant swim. silly but thats they way of things at local governments eh
