I reckon Geil and Marc J would dispute that there hasn't been any recent advance in kite tricks on bridled kites. Ruben Lenten must have had the same talent but there's no way he could have S-looped or double looped a C-kite and added front and backrolls in at the same time.

Interesting that his recommended C kite comes from the factory setup as a bridled kite. I've heard good things about the Amp but selling it as a bridled kite that CAN become a C kite seems like a marketing trick - rather than having 2 dedicated kites.

I find his arguments about 10 year old design contrary to remarks I've heard from other freestyle riders. Liam Whalley was saying that when he was testing the WTF with Fone it was easier than the bandit because he simply needed to tell the designer what he needed from the kite in order to win. With the bandit he had to shift his mindset to fit a less dedicated target audience whenever he was giving feedback. This suggests that C-kite design is pretty cutting edge as it is extremely focussed on a really small set of users.
