Looking for a little information here.
I have been looking at the core section and the GTS kites and they are promoted as two very different kites with very different characteristics but when I put them side by side I am struggling to see any real differences that would inherently give them very different flying characteristics at all. I can see the bridle attachments vary a little. Other than that slightly different colours and that's about it.
Probably a little more focused on the Nexus v Section 2 comparison, but it does feature the GTS (v4 not current v5). Seems to be very subtle differences that helps distinguish between their preferred suitability.
I have been riding Core since 2008 and the last 3-4 predominately the Section for wave riding. The GTS used to be my favourite kite before the Section came out becasue it turned so well, It did however lack a bit of depower.
The Section has more depower but turns a bit slower and the drift is much better on a slack lines. It is super forgiving kite, not saying the GTS is difficult to fly, just the Section is easier.
Hope that helps....

So going on the information so far the Section should also be quite good for flat water riding with a twin, looping old school tricks and jumping.
Not quite as good as the GTS but not the "wave" only as the advertisement would suggest.
Again I am looking for information and not trying to criticise a great kite brand.
Core used to have a very clear Kite range, now they've gone similar to others a range of kites that can do everything, for consumers it's a headfark,
but designed to be imho
wave
freeride big air
freestyle
allrounder
foil/ race
thats the only choice needed
Mate, they are very different kites. Look at this here, I took two screenshots from the website: prnt.sc/n1jr04
You should also notice that the GTS is a lot more sturdy than the section, which makes sense since the GTS apparently starts beeing nice when well into the top end of its range. You can jump any kite but if you are looking for something that is good in the waves and for jumping, you should try out the Nexus. Or just give the guys from actionsports a call all I know from the core line up is from watching them from the beach at cape town and talking to some good riders but I didn't talk to anyone riding a Section, only GTS, XR and Nexus.
