Thomas Traversa's IQ

UMI quiz the featherweight Frenchman about his new signature sails.

Top PWA wave sailor, Thomas Traversa (Tabou, Gaastra), now has his name fully etched into the sport, with his signature series of low aspect, 4 batten wave sails. Named the IQ, they're said to be more compact than the Manic by incorporating a shorter a luff length, but with the same length boom.

Traversa reckons his new sails are better for tricks, and really easy to move whilst carving, making riding free and easy. Judging by the stunts that he was pulling off on tour towards the end of last year, these new sails will probably boost him into some rocket air style spins that will certainly rack up the points.

The IQ hasn't just been designed for the light weight pros though. Apparently the average windsurfer will enjoy the power which the sail produces when blasting along in a straight line, and the extra manoeuvrability that just so happens to help Thomas perform his top tricks.
