Watch the biggest wipeouts of the Red Bull King of the Air.

Lasse Walker, just seconds before knocking himself out on landing.
Every year the Red Bull King of the Air has at least one crash that makes the news. While the world marvels at the huge airs and gnarly kiteloops, the kiteboarding community secretly just wants the crashes. This year, there was two that stood out above the rest, Lewis Crathern and Lasse Walker both ended up in hospital after falling from over 10m, their kites driving them into the water with the force of a serious car crash.

Lasse walker was the first to go, with his kite stalling at the bottom of a loop and himself plummeting into the water on his side. It ripped him clean out of his bindings, and after being picked up by the rescue boat was taken to hospital with some internal bruising and water in his lungs.

Then it was Lewis's turn, so unfortunate for the UK rider who was on track to win the entire event. He was going bigger, longer and more extreme than anyone else in the competition, truly deserving of the win. Until he too stalled his kite mid loop, and went in back first right in front of the other riders. Luckily, they saw he didn't surface and all rushed to his aid, immediately releasing their kites to help the unconscious Lewis. They released his kite too, and helped him until the rescue boat arrived. Still unconscious, they took him to hospital where he was put into an induced coma. Waking up hours later, it's not known the full extent of Lewis Injuries, but although still being in hospital - doctors say he will kite again!

Lewis crash wasn't caught by the live stream cameras, so it will be a couple of days before spectator footage gets around the internet. Until then, enjoy the highlights reel below, and spectacular footage of Lasse Walkers crash.
