Kiteboard Course Racing World Championships
It may look like a good way to play knitting with kites, but will Kiteboard Course Racing become a new & valid discipline?

The San Francisco Bay is one of the most consistent wind playgrounds in the world. Even underneath a heavy blanket of fog, the wind will crank every day from March until October. After 6 weeks of socked in, grey skies, the sun is finally setup bringing bright blue skies and the best Kiteboarding Course racers from around the world to Crissy Field.

More than 80 of the world's top professional kiteboarders ranging in age from 16 to 60 and hailing from all corners of the globe including Germany, Holland and France will vie for the title of Kiteboard Course Racing World Champion at the first ever Kiteboard Course Racing World Championship event at Crissy Field in San Francisco August 4-8, 2009. The St. Francis Yacht Club is the official host and organizer of the free, family-friendly event.

"The sport of kiteboarding is still in its infancy, and kiteboard course racing is the hottest event taking place on the water right now," said John Gomes, a developer of the race series.
